This author was brand new to me and I'm so glad I got to read this book. It's a debut novel from this author and it is a shot and sweet story. I can't wait to see where the author goes with this series next!

This is the 1st book I read by Ashlyn Hope. I'm sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 4 because it didn't grab my interest.

I loved Going Pro: Touchdown. I was looking for a short quick read to fill up some free time and this one did just that. When I review a book I usually wait a day or two before reviewing it just to see if after a little bit I still feel the same about the book. Pro (Prudence) is a down to earth girl which makes her a very likable character. She's new to the city and struggling to make ends meet. There are two professional football teams and one football player happens to walk in to her shop for a massage. That there helps for on the professional front. On the dating side she literally walks into a football player, from the other team in town, nicknamed the Meat Mountain. Meat Mountain's name is David. He's a good guy and not at all cocky. I'm very much looking forward to reading more of Pro and David's story.

It's hard to believe this is the first book by this author. In addition to being well written and well edited the characters stole my heart. After a disappointing end to her latest relationship, Pro runs into David who is a pro football player. They are immediately smitten with one another. Going Pro is Ashlyn Hope’s first novel and introduces us to Prudence “Pro” a small town girl who had a career ahead of her in academia until one night when she decided to scrap it all and threw herself into getting her massage certificate. Now a few months into her career in the big city, Pro’s insecurities have risen again as she struggles to pay her overdue rent in the small space she leases in a co-op beauty salon and puts up with a man she found on the Internet who is a jerk and is quick to shame her. Down on her luck, Pro mentally tries to prepare for her last massage of the day. Frank plays for The Firemen, one of the two professional football teams in the city and he just lost his last massage guy. Happy with Pro’s work, he tells her he will come back and also recommend her. Frank keeps his word and her life changes. Her excitement doesn’t last. A text from Kieran cancels their planned date because of work. Shortly after Pro receives a call from the head health coordinator for Frank’s team requesting her to step in while one of their preferred massage therapists is on maternity leave based on Frank’s recommendation. She decides to not let the night go to waste, goes home, glams up and heads to her special place for a glass of champagne, only to find her cancelled date now in a corner with his tongue down a beautiful, thin woman’s throat. Holding back tears, Pro downs the rest of her drink leaves the bar and walks aimlessly home with her heart crushed once again. Maybe crashing into a guy with the nickname ‘Meat Mountain’ won’t turn out so bad after all. As a reader, I’d like to know a little more up front about ‘Pro’ Prudence; where she is from, and what city the story takes place in. I’m hopeful this will all be revealed as the story line continues. I was given a copy of this book for a fair and honest review and is a good first effort.

Every once in a while you just need a quick, cute romance. And that's exactly what this book was. She's struggling enough trying to make ends meet and after a brief 'relationship' with a jerk she met online, Pro's not sure things are going her way. But then Pro bumps, literally, into David, a football player with a kind heart. A relationship quickly develops between the two and Pro wonders if finally, things are turning in her favour. I think that overall, this was a pretty good story. I think my main critique lies with many elements that could be fixed by extending this novel. By my copy, it was only 77 pages long. That didn't leave a lot of room to develop characters, relationships, storylines, etc. I don't know much about Pro, where she's from, what she really looks like, why she is the person she is. There was much more that needed to be included to fully flesh out the story. I will say that despite this, the story has good bones. Pro seems like a nice enough character, but I don't know much about her. I think there could be a good relationship with David, who seems like a genuinely nice, non-jerkish guy, but the book is just too short to get to the meat of these details. There's a lot to build on in book two, but part of me thinks that maybe they should be put together to make one longer book? The writing of the book itself was largely well done. There were a few moments that felt a little awkward, things being told, not shown, but that comes with practice. It was a good attempt for a debut novel. I also felt like things were just getting good and the story ended, but I guess I'll just have to wait for book two. Overall, a solid debut and a series I look forward to continuing!

**3.5 Meat-Mountain Stars** The debut sports romance novel by new-to-me author Ashlyn Hope was a quick read that is guaranteed to sweep you off your feets. Albeit a little too fast-paced and insta-romance for my liking, I can't help but be pulled into the Pro's journey in both her life and love. I do wish that there is more character development in the story, I'm particularly keen on learning about Pro's background story and perhaps would appreciate a little bit more angst, but overall, as a debut novel, the writing was surprisingly good and the story was worthwhile! Looking forward to the sequel ;) I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book generously provided by the author. Thank you so much for the reviewing opportunity!

What? How is Going Pro: Touchdown Ashlyn's debut book? I loved it and it was the perfect fast paced Sports Romance to get over the Holiday Blues (Since I am sick as a dog in bed right now). Going Pro was sassy, dramatic, and sexy which is the perfect ingredients to romance. Pro and David were quite a pair. And even though Pro's life was changed a bit, I believe fate had other plans for her. David made me fall instantly too! I love to have a book that I can read quickly at times. Sometimes I need What? this was surprisingly a cute story. you felt for Pro, with her struggle when it came to her business and trying to make ends meet. and when it came to her dating life, been there done that. and it was this reason that i so wanted to punch Kieran when i read what he had said to Pro and the way that he treated her. then when she meet David i felt that she may now have a real chance at finding someone that will actually treat her right. and then when she gets a call that can change her career that this was surprisingly a cute story. you felt for Pro, with her struggle when it came to her business and trying to make ends meet. and when it came to her dating life, been there done that. and it was this reason that i so wanted to punch Kieran when i read what he had said to Pro and the way that he treated her. then when she meet David i felt that she may now have a real chance at finding someone that will actually treat her right. and then when she gets a call that can change her career that made me start to have more hope for Pro. I can't wait to read the next part of this series so that i can see how Pro and David's story works out, and to see how things change for her when it comes to her career.

This was a fun, fast read, and I really enjoyed it. The characters are realistic and relatable, which is something I find to be missing from so many other romance novels in the sports genre. Nothing is too crazy, and no one is a cliche or stereotype. Sure, the couple did kind of fall into insta-love, but I found it realistic in the story, especially for Pro. She is young, has a lot on her plate, has been having bad luck with guys, and he is a super hot football player who is also a great guy. Th This was a fun, fast read, and I really enjoyed it. What a wonderful read. I will admit to being somewhat of a sports romance addict and this book did not disappoint. The names in this story are awesome. We have Meat (David) and Pro (Prudence). Meat is a football player that shows his night in shining armor side to Pro right away. Pro has moved from her small town to a big city, trying to make it on her own as a massage therapist. Great start to the series I really enjoyed "Going Pro" by Ashlyn Hope. This is the first book I've read by this author and it was a fun and quick teaser for the series. The author did a great job introducing a bunch of characters that have already captured my curiosity. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series. This is a great book to add to your collection. Happy Reading...enjoy!

I enjoyed this book from this first time author. Pro is a sweet person who is struggling to get her business going. She keeps meeting losers on a dating site and never thinks she will find happiness. Frank comes for a massage and things start to look up for Pro. I really liked how Meat was with Pro. He treated her like she deserves to be treated. I think Meat and Pro make a great couple I just wished there was a little more to their story and their time together.

Going Pro: This is a well written, light hearted book. I loved Prudence because she reminded me of how I was when I was younger. Always falling for the wrong type of man. This book is the perfect blend of good girl finally meeting the perfect man and getting her life and career set.
